For the word of God is alive and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
There is an old saying which goes like this; Sow a thought and you reap an action; sow an act and you reap a habit; sow a habit and you reap a character; sow a character and you reap a destiny! That is a statement of truth in this “see and be seen” natural world and it can take you far, but trying to be a good person doesn’t change your spiritual nature and make you ready for Heaven, which is the single focus of the Bible. The spiritual nature of SELF that we are born with into planet earth is considered to be spiritual leprosy in Heaven. God has to quicken us by His Spirit to change our spiritual nature and make us ready for Heaven. He does just that the moment we believe in Jesus Christ. Just like God created the worlds by His words, even so He recreates our spirits by His Spirit through His words. Jesus is called “The Word,” because He only spoke the words of God and when He spoke miracles happened. The words of God in the Bible have the supernatural power to quicken us, heal us and change our spiritual nature. In this passage of scripture we see the dual nature of the words of God upon the heart and soul of man. I have italicized the dual nature of the phrases to show you the dual working of the Spirit through the words of God. The two-edged sword of the word of God separates the flesh nature of the natural man (Adam in us) from the spirit nature of the spiritual man (Christ in us). Focus on these italicized dual phrases and you should be able to see it? The phrase; “alive and powerful” shows that when the word of God is inwardly alive in our heart it produces spiritual power in our outward character and behavior. The phrase; “soul and spirit” shows that the words of God are being chewed upon in the mind and conscience to quicken our heart of man and change his inward spiritual nature. Soul is more outward through the five senses, while spirit is more inward from the heart. The phrase “thoughts and intents,” shows the difference between the mind of man and the heart of man. Thoughts fuel the imaginations of the mind while intents fuel the desires and purposes from the heart of man. The phrase; “joints and marrow,” reveal how the words of God even affect our health. Joints are more outward in the body, while the marrow works more inwardly as it even produces our blood. So you can see that the words of God aren’t just words, but they are containers of spiritual power from above for the heart and soul of the believer. In each phrase, there is an inward working of the Spirit within and an outward working of the Spirit upon the human as he believes and appropriates the words of God by faith.
It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
The word of God is the two-edged sword of the Spirit to help us absorb truth and see the difference between us in Adam and Adam in us vs us in Christ and Christ in us. What you do on earth will affect your eternal destiny, but in reality, what you do in life is really based upon what you believe and who you are living by, either the natural man of Adam or the spiritual man of Christ. Every soul in the human race is born into this world as the progeny of Adam and in him we live primarily for SELF. Adam is the natural man, the old man, the outward man, the carnal man and we are all born of him into this natural world by birth. In Adam we inherit the spiritual nature of SELF that is filled with lust. His spiritual nature is passed down to every soul through the bloodlines of the fathers and that life ends in death because in Adam we are separated from God and we are spiritually dead.
Every soul in the human race that is born again of the Spirit of God as the progeny of Christ goes through a change of spiritual nature so that we live primarily for the purpose of loving and pleasing God. Christ is the new man, the inward man, the spiritual man, and in Him we are all born again of the Spirit into God’s eternal kingdom by spiritual birth. In Christ we inherit the spiritual nature of SON that is filled with the Spirit of God. His spiritual nature is passed down to us through the words of God, and ends in eternal life because we are new creatures in Him and citizens of Heaven. Either way, by natural birth or by spiritual birth, we go through the processes of growth as the babe, the child and the son.
Few people realize that what they believe is supernatural and eternal. Just like Eve heard words and then saw the deceptions, even so we hear words and see the deceptions of the ways of death. We hear words and a thought comes forth into our minds to show us a picture of the intent of the lie that is embedded within the words. Even so God’s words come forth into our hearts through our ears to produce thoughts beyond our imaginations to see things that are seen only within the heart that lasts forever. God’s words are alive and powerful. they pierce the lies and lusts of the flesh to divide what is soulical from what is spiritual and they produce the hearing ear and the seeing eye that saves us from the ways of death. God calls those things which be not as though they were in our hearts until they are; if we focus our ears and eyes upon His words. Every word of God is supernatural and puts His super on our natural so we can live and not die. The Spirit quickens our spirit with power from on high. While the lusts of the flesh and of the mind are pounding our spirits, God’s words are speaking supernaturally to our hearts.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:1-3)
Just as God spoke the worlds into existence in the beginning (Genesis 1-2), even so His words change, rearrange, quicken and recreate our hearts into dwelling places of His presence. Every molecule and atom in the universe contains within it a supernatural element of the quickening power of the Spirit of God’s word and that is why the universe holds together. The way that we see the supernatural power of God in our lives is by beholding His words in faith. Notice in this passage that faith is a evidence that provides spiritual substance for our hope in the unseen realities of God. God is a Spirit and He is the Father of spirits beings clothed in natural bodies. (Hebrews 12:9) Just like God, we believe and therefore we speak. You can tell what a person believes by the words of their mouth. The problem is when spirit beings believe lies, destruction is the result. Satan is the father of lies. (John 8:44)
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1 Corinthians 15:42-49)
Here is the core of the Bible when it comes to the spiritual nature of man. In the first birth we are born of Adam as a natural man. We must be born again of the Last Adam by the Spirit of Christ to become a spiritual man. Jesus came from Heaven to earth by virgin birth to become the last Adam for us. The plumbline is; We are all born of Adam and walk in his spiritual nature but we must be born again of the divine nature of Christ and learn to live by Him instead of Adam, if we want to experience the supernatural lifestyle of the Son of God. We must sow to the Spirit if we are going to reap of the Spirit of God. In our natural birth we are progeny of Adam and we all have his spiritual nature, which is unfit for Heaven. The first man Adam was created as a living soul. All he had to do was to obey God and he would’ve become a spiritual man, but he disobeyed God and he died spiritually. He could hear God’s voice and feel God’s presence before he sinned, but when he sinned he died spiritually and in him we all died spiritually. Every human born into planet earth was in Adam’s loins when he sinned agaist God so what He did affected us spiritually and naturally. God’s first promise to them and to us that he would send the second man from Heaven (Genesis 3:15) to become the last Adam for us and to take away the dominion that Satan stole from Adam. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary so His blood wasn’t tainted by the power of Satan’s spiritual nature of SIN. When we are born again of the Spirit of Christ we receive His Spirit and are made alive unto God. The new birth also makes us fit for Heaven because as the last Adam, Jesus became a curse for us as our substitute upon the cross where He bore away our sins and was punished with our punishment so we could be made alive unto God and be made righteous in His sight. Just like one man separated us from God, even so one man Jesus Chrsit brought us back unto God. This is where all the religions of the world fail. They can’t remove our sin nature to bring us back unto a righteous and merciful God who quickens our spirits with His resurrection power. Jesus perfectly fulfilled the Law of God and then as the perfect man, He laid down His life as a ransom for us. We’ve all been born into planet earth as the progeny of Adam, but we must be born again of the Spirit of Christ to receive His Spirit which makes us alive unto God forever. (John 3:3-7) When we read and hear the words of God, faith comes and as we believe in the redemption of Christ, we are quickened by His Spirit. The words of God are supernatural and by His Spirit they will quicken your spirit into the Spirit of Christ. (Ezekiel 36:26-27, Joel 2:28. Acts 2:15-21)
And He said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. (Mark 4:21-25) He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 11:15)
You are going to live for a little while and then you are going to die and enter into eternity and what will happen then? Your time on planet earth is only a few minutes in eternity. They that are wise will prepare for eternity but the eyes of the fool are all over the place enjoying foolishness. Are you ready for eternity. Will you just jump into the ocean of eternity while others shout “swim?” People will plan for years on how to build their house or build their business, which will only last for a few years for them, yet they won’t plan for eternity. The whole world will give you advice and lead you astray. Every soul must decide their own path into eternity. You are going to experience everything you are going to experience in life. Nothing is going to be held back from you, but eternity in Heaven will be held back from you if you don’t prepare your heart while you are on earth.
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. (1 Corinthians 2:17)
Sin isn’t welcome in Heaven. A few moments of sin that we call life, is only a drop in the bucket compared to eternity in Heaven. The whole world will give you advice and tickle your ears with philosophy, but when you walk with God the way Adam and Eve did, life is full of miracles. God is the heavenly father and He is enlarging His heavenly family. God wants to give us His Spirit so we can live forever with Him. The question is “Have you been quickened?” If you have been quickened; you know it. The next question is; “Will you open your ears to hear the words of God?” The natural man will listen to and believe just about everything they hear and see and touch and smell and taste, but think it strange to see the divine pictures that flow from the words of God. When we have ears to hear, God’s Spirit pierces into our hearts, shines the light of truth into our spirits and our souls to create in us a new heart. The Bible also says that our eyes must be opened so we can be turned from darkness to light, behold truth and look at the things which are not seen. (Acts 26:18)
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Matthew 13:15)
So we all have spiritual eyes and ears that are designed to hear the words of God and discern spiritual truths that impart eternal life unto us. The supernatural power of God is in His words, but before the miracles begin, His words must flow into our eyes and ears and drop down 12 inches from our heads into our hearts where we believe. The Bible says, “All things are possible to them that believe.” (Mark 9:23) The heros of the Bible experienced miracles when they believed the words of God. (Hebrews 11) Our words carry our thoughts, but God’s words carries His divine will, His divine purpose and supernatural power of His Spirit that causes them to come to pass even though it is impossible. God’s words release the quickening power of God’s Spirit.
For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom He will. (John 5:21)
Just knowing that God is the Heavenly Father will change your life. (Hebrews 12:9-10) God is the creator, but we must go through a change of spiritual nature to personally know Him as Heavenly Father. (Daniel 11:32) The devils believe in God and they tremble. (James 2:9) When we believe God’s words like Abram did, He becomes our heavenly father. When God’s words drop down into our hearts and spiritual realities of Truth are activated by faith, we look at the things which cannot be seen and we are amazed. By faith we understand Truth and are quickened! (Hebrews 11:3) What do I mean by the word “quickened?” The scriptural meaning is “to make alive.” Even though we are physically alive, we are born spiritually dead and God has to make us alive unto Him in our spirits by His Spirit. (Romans 6:11) God does that through the quickening power of His words. It’s like turning on the lights with a light-switch. Flip the switch and electricity flows from the power source to the light bulb so we can see. The same thing happens with the words of God.
As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before Him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. (Romans 4:17)
When Abraham heard God speak in past tense, He believed it was already done even though it was impossible and He was a nobody, because He felt the quickening power of the God’s words. God spoke to Abram in past tense saying, “I have made you the father of many nations. God spoke to Abram in past tense, even though Abram didn’t have any children. Abram means “father.” God renamed Abram with the new name of Abraham, which means “father of many nations.” I believe this is where God’s words quickened Abraham and that when Abraham believed God’s words, his spiritual nature changed. God changed Abram’s name signifying that his spiritual nature changed. As you read the Bible, you will read words that don’t make sense, but as you focus upon the words of God, realities of truth will jump out of His words into your heart and you will look at the things which are not seen and your spiritual nature will go through a change. You will be born again of the Spirit of God. (1 John 5:1-4)
While we look not at the things which are seen, but we look at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)
God takes pleasure in revealing truth unto us because He is the great revealer. When you look at the words of God expecting to discover His secret, His words will explode in your heart so you can look at the things which are not seen by the natural man. God’s words will transform you into a spiritual man who can walk in the light with God. (John 8:12) Faith is the light switch that turns on the light of Truth in your heart to see that the impossible in God’s word is possible by the power of God. We read a scripture in faith and the power of the Spirit quickens us inwardly in our hearts to see the divine pictures within God’s words. That is how our eyes are opened and we are turned from darkness to light to behold the things which are not seen. (Acts 26:18) Just like the dyng people of Israel beheld the brass serpent upon the pole and they lived, even so we look at the things which are not seen through the words of God and are made alive unto God by His Spirit. The scripture says they beheld and they lived. (Numbers 21:9) Beholding something is more lasting than just seeing something. When you behold, you understand and are amazed and the truth you understand becomes faith in things not seen. God is not the God of the dead but He is the God of the living. (Mark 12:27) He quickens the dead by His Spirit and He calls those things which be not as though they were, until they are. (Romans 4:17, Romans 8:11)
Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
From the Bible perspective we are either walking by faith through the inward man of the heart or by foolishness through the outward man of the five senses. To live for a few moments of time is foolishness unto God. Faith in the words of God imparts the hidden wisdom unto us that lasts for eternity. (1 Corinthians 2:7-9) The quickening of your human spirit comes from Heaven by His Spirit for the purpose of enlightening your heart and changing your spiritual nature to make you ready for salvation and fit for an eternal inheritance in Heaven. (1 Peter 1:4) The divine nature of Christ ignites in our hearts when God’s words become alive and are activated by our faith. Here is how faith works to produce the quickening. God’s words are containers of divine thoughts which produce pictures of truth in our hearts. They show us the things which are not seen. When you read them, hear them, speak them and focus on them, you see things that are invisible and eternal and as you see them you spirit becomes quickened by God’s Spirit. (2 Corinthians 4:18) The words of God are alive with spiritual pictures of things we cannot see and that are eternal. The only way to see the invisible things of creation is through the eyes of faith in the words of God. When you read a scripture, faith comes and you look at the things which are not visible in our natural world. The more we hear the words of God and look at the invisible things of God, the more we are renewed in our spirits by His Spirit. The words of God release supernatural resurrection quickening power into our hearts to produce the divine nature of Christ in us which makes us fit for Heaven.
But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. (Luke 4:4) Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
Jesus well-said these words. Notice the phrase “every word of God,” vs “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” At first you will see just every word of God, but as you focus in faith, your heart ignites with truth and then you see a different level of intimacy with God as His words proceed from His mouth with purpose into your ear and down into your heart. Do you hear His words or do you hear the voice of God in His words directly to you? Selah! In every word of God that flows into the human heart, something natural dies and something spiritual comes to life by the resurrection power that flows from His words.
God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)
God’s words are true whether we believe them or not, but when you focus upon His words and get the feeling that God is speaking directly to you, that is where the spiritual change takes place. Faith cometh when we hear the words of God. (Romans 10:17) God keeps His word unto to us even if it takes a miracle, if we can believe. His words never fail and His truth never ends. God is able to do everything He promises and nothing can stop Him but an unbelieving heart. When we hear God’s words and are quickened by His Spirit, all things are possible to him that believes. (Mark 9:23) God’s words are spiritual seeds, (Mark 4:14) and our hearts are spiritual ground into which the seeds are sown and good ground brings forth good fruit unto God.(Matthew 13:8) The seeds of God’s words must fall into the good ground of a believing heart before it can be quickened by the Spirit of faith so it can bear good fruit unto God. (Matthew 7:16-18)
It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (Mark 13:31)
Every word of God is alive and powerful in the faith-filled heart to quicken your spirit and make you alive unto God. Do you see the inward truth and outward effect by the words of God upon the human? What is the difference between those that are lost forever and those who live in Heaven forever? The difference is your focus. If your focus is upon the lies and lusts of the world, you will be swallowed up in the darkness of this world and lose your soul and you will be lost forever. But if you will focus upon the words of God with your heart, If you hunger and thirst for righteousness, (Matthew 5:6) the light of God’s Spirit will shine into your soul and you will see truth and the Spirit of God will quicken you. (Acts 26:18) The light of Truth will shine in your heart and you will look at the things which are not seen. (2 Corinthians 4:6) As you read this blog, your focus should be like a magnifying glass upon the words of God until you are able to look at the things which are not seen. (2 Corinthians 4:18) It will be fun and glorious. Just focus upon the italicized words until you see the divine picture God is portraying as truth through His words and you should get it. Once your eyes are opened, to know that you know it is truth, then you will experience the quickening and be full of JOY unspeakable and full of glory. (1 Peter 1:8) Rejoicing in the goodness of God is the only way of life in Heaven, but God wants to quicken you by His Spirit so you can know His truth and experience His goodness while you are still on earth..
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to Himself. (2 Corinthians 4:13)
Most of the time, the thoughts we have and the things we think about are not spiritual and even when we are being philosophical we are not truly being spiritual. We are just playing with thoughts about being a better person, etc. blah blah. However, when we believe something, we change as a person. The words of God come from God’s mouth with supernatural power even thousands of years after they were originally spoken. That power is ignited by our faith and poured into our hearts by His Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:10) God’s words transcend time and history. God created the worlds by His words. (Hebews 11:3) Even today God speaks to us by His words. God never changes, His words never change and His supernatural power that flows through His words never changes, but they are eternal. God’s words come from Heaven through Jesus Christ into the hearts of men and produce in us a change of spiritual nature. As a natural man we hear words and we believe what we hear even if it may be a lie, and as a natural man we speak it to others as our own thought. (Jeremiah 17:9) However, when we hear the words of God, we look at the things which are not seen. We see and believe spiritual realities with our heart and we begin to speak the words of God as a spiritual man by the Spirit of faith. When we believe and speak the words of God we see and understand spiritual realities. We believe and therefore we speak because we know by the Spirit of faith.
And He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me. (Acts 26:15-18)
This passage is full of unseen realities that are appropriated by the Spirit of faith. Saul is persecuting believers in Christ and having them put to death. Jesus appears to Him and knocks him off his horse. This is when Saul begins his process of becoming Paul. He is seeing Jesus alive from the dead and hearing His voice. Jesus begins the process of turning an enemy of Christians into an Apostle. He is blinded by the light for three days and nights until Jesus sends Ananias to pray for Him and give him back his sight. Three days and nights! Does that sound familiar? Any time Jesus called someone to join Him for His purpose in ministry, He changes their names and that is the same thing with Saul becoming Paul. The Bible even says that when we become a new man in Christ and learn to overcome the old man of the first birth, we receive a new name from God also. (Revelation 2:17) A new nature with a new name and eternal destiny is what God is calling us to. The old man, the outward man, the carnal man, the evil man with all his lusts and lies of the self-program is being transformed into one new man in the Spirit of Christ. (Romans 12:2) As we learn to live by the inward man in Christ, we are going to live forever with Him by the Spirit of Christ in us. The anointing with the Spirit and power flows into us through His words. (John 3:3-8, John 6:63-70, Matthew 24:35, Acts 1:8)
And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus. And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. (Acts 26:10-20)
Saul is now laid up and blind, useless for anything (like most of us). The great Pharisee Saul is blind for three days and nights while he is going through a change of spiritual nature and becoming Paul the Apostle who eventually wrote two thirds of the New Testament. He is going through a change of sight. He is passing from death as a natural man to life as a spiritual man. For three days and nights He is going through a transformation from death to life just like Jesus. Anyone who has ever seen Jesus goes through a change of spiritual nature forever. It is the only transformation that prepares us for Heaven. We can’t go to Heaven the way we are just like you don’t let murders play with your kids. God has to make us ready for Heaven. The Bible calls it “the new birth.” (John 3:3, 7, 2 Corinthians 5;17, Galatians 3:27-28) Then Jesus speaks to Ananias while He is praying and Ananias’ first thought is; “Lord, this man is dangerous and he is persecuting believers.” Notice how Ananias is concerned about himself after the Lord speaks to him and Jesus keeps speaking to him like any normal person. He will do that with you also once you come to know Him intimately. Jesus said, I’ve chosen him to be a minister and now go pray for him and lay hands over him so he can receive his sight back. Ananias obeys the Lord and as he lays hands on Saul (who is becoming Paul by new birth) in prayer, the blindness falls off his eyes like scales. We are all born into planet earth with those same scales of spiritual blindness and only Jesus can open our eyes, turn us from darkness to light, from the power of Satan unto God so we can receive our spiritual eternal inheritance in the light. (Acts 26:18) When we come to Jesus with all our hearts, He quickens us by His Spirit and we are born again of the Spirit of God. (John 3:3-7)
And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. (Ephesiand 2:1-3)
Notice we are all born in this spiritual condition of spiritual blindness. We are only on planet earth for a few years and then we enter into the spirit realm for eternity so we need to know about our eternal destinies and God wants us to know truth for eternity. This passage of scripture speaks about the human who has had the experience of meeting Jesus like Saul did. God quickens uf by His Spirit in our spirits so we can know Him and become His very own child forever. God loves us and when you ask Him to, He will quicken your spirit by His Spirit and the scales of darkness will come off from your eyes and you will know truth. You have an eternal inheritance reserved for you in Heaven. (Hebrews 9:15) All you have to do is believe with your heart and be quickened by His Spirit. (Matthew 7:7) The word “Quicken” means “to make alive.” Jesus said, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4) We were dead in trespasses and sins but we were quickened by His Spirit when we heard the words of God and we were made alive unto God. (Ephesians 2:1-10, Romans 6:11-14)
I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me. (John 17:23) I and My Father are one.(John 10:30)
Notice the disparity between Jesus and us. Notice how we become like Him by becoming one with Him. Jesus is called “the Word” throughout the Bible because He only speaks the words of God. (Matthew 24:35) Now notice we are living to be our own gods, to do our own will, to go our own way without any knowledge of God. We are as far from God as the east is from the west until we come to know Him and He puts away our sins as far as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:12) Jesus says we can become one with Him just like He is one with God. (John 17:23) How is that possible? It is by His words coming into our hearts and making us alive with His Spirit unto God. (John 5:24) We become born again of the Spirit of God through the hearing and receiving of His words. (1 Peter 1:23) The words of God drop down into our hearts like seeds into the ground. (Matthew 13:3-23)
Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. (Isaiah 55:6-11)
In this passage God says that men are spiritual trees and the words of God come out of His mouth and are sprinkled upon the earth like drops of rain, flakes of snow and spiritual seeds into the hearts of men so that they become fruitful trees that bear fruit unto God instead of briars and thorns that will be burned up in the fire. The words of God will cause your thoughts and your ways will begin to change to bear fruit unto God and fit you for your eternal home in Heaven. (Matthew 4:4, 7:19, John 15:4-8) God speaks His words in such a way that they are described as the raindrops that fall from Heaven to water and cleanse the earth (our bodies are from the earth) so that it brings forth fruitful trees that bear fruit unto God. Just like the rain comes down from the sky and every drop has life-giving power, even so every word from God imparts life to the thirsty soul that wants to live forever. God’s words are rain drops of truth that fall upon the ground of our hearts and returns to the atmosphere of God’s presence in praises and worship. Those same raindrops of God’s words become seeds that are sown into your heart only to grow up into fruit bearing trees. As you focus upon the seeds of the words of God they sprout spiritual realities in your heart that produce a change of character. It is the nature of God to freely give so we can freely live forever. Just like God created the worlds with His words, even so the words of God come into our hearts to recreate our spiritual natures and turn us from darkness to light. (Acts 26;18) He will abundantly pardon, but after you are pardoned you must be equipped with the divine nature to inherit Heaven. (Isaiah 55:7) In every word of God there is revelation of the Truth of death and life and the supernatural power to recreate our spiritual nature. The same God that imparts eternal life unto us in our spirits through His words can also quicken and heal our physical bodies through the quickening power of His words when we believe. Faith ignites the supernatural power of God’s words. God wants everyone to live forever in His heavenly family, but many will be lost even though God has made provision for every soul through Jesus. God punished Jesus for our sins and then He raised Jesus from the dead so we could live forever by Christ in us as we believe in Him. God quickens our spirits by His Spirit to make it possible for the human to walk in the divine nature of Christ and be made fit for Heaven. The words of the world are containers for the worldly thoughts that are given to the soul, but God’s words are spiritual containers of supernatural spiritual realities. They carry the thoughts of God into our hearts to ignite our spirits by His Spirit. God’s words are eternal and they carry the divine nature of Christ in them. (Proverbs 20:27)
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Hebrews 4:2)
The words that come from the mouth of God impart the thoughts of God that open the eyes of your heart to see truth that quickens your spirit by God’s Spirit so you can live forever. (Acts 26;18) When the words of God come into your heart and you speak the words of God with your mouth, they quicken you by His Spirit. When the words of God come into a heart filled with faith, supernatural fireworks of God’s goodness and blessing will quicken your soul with His spiritual nature. God has prepared the meal that will sustain us forever but we must mix our faith into His Truth for the meal to provide us with eternal life and divine health. (Luke 4:4)
Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. (Ezekiel 36:25-28)
In this passage of scripture, God says He will sprinkle you with the raindrops of His words and give you a new heart and put in you a new spirit and you will be able to understand God’s thoughts and walk in His ways. God created us and only God can recreate us to make us fit for Heaven. He promises to do that through His Son, our Messiah, Jesus Christ. He has conquered death for us. He has taken our eternal punishment that belonged to us because He loved us. He has risen from the dead to give us power and when we open our hearts unto Him, He gives us a new heart. We become new creatures that never existed before by pouring out the quickening power of His Spirit into our hearts. (Galatians 6:15) Our response should be;
Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. (Psalm 51:10-11)
We must return to God in our hearts and allow Him to quicken us in our souls and give us a new spirit. He does that through the Spirit of Christ who has risen from the dead for us. His words bring eternal life into our hearts and our spirits so that we are born again from above. (James 1:17) When we receive His Spirit we are made fit to live in Heaven forever. (Acts 19:2) The quickening power of the Spirit of God comes through the words of Jesus Christ. (John 6:63) Let His words fall down like drops of rain and seeds sown into your heart so you can live and not die. (Psalm 118:17) Every word of God carries the quickening power of God which activates in the human heart for the glory of God. (James 4:8)
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; He hath given to the poor: His righteousness remaineth forever. Now He that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God. For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God; Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men; And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. (2 Corinthians 9:8-14)
The same principle of quickening is seen in this passage of scripture. God rains down blessings upon believers to be a blessing to others through the raindrops and seeds of His words. Those who are blessed send up prayers and praises unto God which pleases God. The words of God come down from Heaven like raindrops and seeds into our hearts and we are made alive unto God and are washed of our filthiness of the flesh. As we walk with God in His blessings, we do good, we love others, we praise God, and finance God’s end-time harvest. This glorifies God and He blesses us so we can continue to be a blessing to others. (Acts 20:35) The scriptures are the words of God that quicken us. (Ephesians 2:1) The following phrases of scripture have quickening power. They are good examples of words and phrases that quicken us. Focus on each phrase to see the spiritual reality in the thought, and after you think you see it, then hover above the scripture reference at the end to see the whole passage in context. That is how your eyes will be opened and turned from darkness to light. (Acts 26;18) then you can say, “I believe this, I receive this and I declare this is truth for me. The words of God help us to look at the things which are not seen. (2 Corinthians 4:18) You declaration that it is true for you affects you. God hears you, the devil hears you and you hear you say what Truth is for you. Focus your thought upon the phrase until you get the knowing that comes from the phrase. You can also hover above the scripture references and read the whole paragraphs and watch your eyes open unto Truth as you trust God for The Quickening!
